a lot of thoughts. a lot of them and most of them arent necessarily good opinions about this case (but that may be more of a me problem since i was half asleep playing the first half of this case. . .)
where do i even begin with turnabout big top?? oh okay i know: as much as i wish i went into this case blind, not knowing who the killer was, the game wouldve told me directly after meeting acro anyways so at least it wasnt that much of a case ruiner . . even if it did ruin the mystery which most ace attorney cases have for me :') like this was the first case ive done where i already knew the killer without it being explicitly stated during the start of the case
as for the characters? most of them were alright. . i didnt feel that much of a want to defend max honestly i mean dont get me wrong i enjoyed his character here and there (especially when phoenix started to speak like him that was super funny) it just doesnt feel like his character developed that much throught this case. . if anything most of the witnesses / side characters were way more interesting which is kinda insane considering that hes literally the defendant
can i just take a moment to point out the biggest elephant in the room which is how weirdly regina was treated throughout the investigations?? that girl is 16. why are grown men proposing to her especially ben / trilo i dont care if trilos a puppet hes still being puppeteered voiced yada yada by ben who is quite literally a 30 something year old guy sorry i just really hated this part of the case considering no one even mentioned it while in the first case of this game something similar was brought up and was a point in a trial at one point
i probably just have no sense of time perception but i couldve sworn the investigations of this case took FOREVER while the trials lasted a good 15-ish minutes. . also another pet peeve ive had about this case was the "magical"-ness of it all like Oh yeah of course the cape managed to fly off the ringmaster's body, go onto max's bust, AND go up all while staying on the bust DONTTTT GET ME WRONG this obviously isnt the first time an ace attorney game had silly reasonings for things happening during a murder but this?? it just made me a bit disinterested with finishing the case cause wow all of this case's events were really such a big coincidence all at once isnt that funny
acro's story was really sad to find out about, though i wish there couldve been more times where we could learn about his character and bat without just straight up jumping into the tragedy so that might be why i didnt really feel satisfied about the ending of this case cause it still felt like there was so much left to learn about these characters. . there were also a few times where everyone felt super out of character??? maybe this is just me nitpicking at this point but thats really how i viewed the case playing it for the first time
honestly the saving grace of this case was the very end like EDGEWORTH WAS THE ONE WHO MADE FRANZISKA DO THE SUDDEN INVESTIGATION???? whats up with that guy and helping phoenix every third case LMAO but it was so good to see him back since so far hes been the mia of jfa aka the dead wife who dies at the beginning of the movie if you know what i mean and it was so cute seeing franz refer to him as a little brother then maya saying that hes literally the same age as wright HASDASDHSJKADA but im super excited for the next case!! (especially with the return of edgeworth and the alluding to turnabout goodbyes with the case's name like okay i see you farewell, my turnabout)
anddd that's mostly what i have to say about this case :) sorry if this blog felt a bittt more negative than usual!! i really tried to enjoy this case even with gumshoe being reduced to more of a minor-ish side character now but it honestly fell flat more than i enjoyed it (┬┬﹏┬┬) i still have high hopes for 2-4 though!! anyways, as always thanks for reading and see you in the next blog!!!
