okay so i ended up actually playing apollo justice the day after i finished trials and tribulations Whoops but anyways THIS WAS SUCH AN INSANE FIRST CASE??? BEANIX??? WHAT HAPPENED IN THOSE 7 YEARS AFTER BRIDGE TO THE TURNABOUT PHOENIX WHAT DID YOU DO THIS TIME WHASJDHADJA ALSO. HOW DID HE BECOME A DAD. WHERE DID HE GET THE TIME TO ADOPT TRUCY IN THOSE 7 YEARS??? WHEN DID HE BECOME A POKER ADDICT. I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THAT GUY LIKE YOUR FUTURE WAS SO BRIGHT WHAT WENT WRONG AFTER BRIDGE TO THE TURNABOUT.
also whats with this games super ominious music. like it felt a bit out of place when i was playing apollo justice last night but listening to the ost on its own now?? its still super ominious but at the same time. such a BANGERR !!! the art on the other hand. . ITS SUPER NICE AND POLISHED its definitely pleasing to the eye especially cause all of the linework is super refined and everything but at the same time. . it just doesnt feel like it has the charm which the art from the original trilogy had :( i mean that's most likely just my own bias since there were a few parts during my playthrough where i inevitably compared the game to the trilogy but at the same time thats just a me problem so oh well maybe ill just figure out how to download the original ds version when i replay the game in the future
i genuinely cant decide whether or not apollos first case or mias first case more was insane i mean objectively speaking its obviously mias since her defendant killed himself at the stand but still. . cause looking at his first case from a narrative point of view?? what do you MEAN it was his mentor who was guilty?? WHY DID PHOENIX JUST DECIDE TO GO TO THE DEFENSES TABLE HALFWAY THROUGH THE TRIAL. TRUCY APPEARING JUST IN TIME TO GIVE APOLLO FORGED EVIDENCE??? APOLLO PUNCHING PHOENIX AT THE END OF THE CASE???? im sorry apollo justice for ever doubting you i never knew someone could have experiences crazier than THE phoenix wright JUST from their first case. . this makes me scared to even think about whats gonna happen for the rest of the game ohmygosh
oh and!! i know ema's in this game!! IVE MISSED HER AND LANA SO MUCH SINCE RFTA the both of them are still probably on my top 5 list of ace attorney characters despite me finishing the trilogy now. . ive seen some text posts about her using her aj sprite and she seems so much more sassier now for lack of a better word. . WHICH IM SO EXCITED TO SEE!! ema skye oh how ive missed you so much i need to know what happened during your time away studying to become a forensic scientist!!!
SPEAKING OF RISE FROM THE ASHES (one of the BEST cases in ace attorney history btw) i was honestly kinda surprised to see the examining gimmick come back again like i was wondering if it was gonna be reused in jfa (despite the game being made before rfta. . i thought it was an already implemented thing in the later aa trilogy games before i realized okay . ?) WHICH is kinda cool!! kristoph wanted to be ema so bad when he was introducing the gimmick to apollo though LMAO and on the topic of gimmicks. did. did apollo eat a magatama or something. is his bracelet magical or what. WHY DOES HE HAVE SOME SORT OF SPIRITUAL POWER WHICH WAS AWAKENED BY PHOENIX WRIGHT OF ALL PEOPLE. HOW DID PHOENIX KNOW ABOUT IT. WHY DID HE SAY IT NEEDED THAT POWER WHEN APOLLO LITERALLY HAD NO IDEA WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT. honestly im kinda scared for my own sanity cause i feel like ill have a hard time using his gimmick as if mayas magatama wasnt bad enough. . I MEAN DONT GET ME WRONG it was fun to use but at the same time using it melted my brain so much. . .
this case was actually so insane though i loved all the subtle references to the previous games!! and can i just take a moment to appreciate how real apollo was during the trials LIKE HE WAS SICK AND TIRED OF PHOENIX'S AND KRISTOPH'S RIDDLES AND YOU KNOW WHAT. ME TOO MR JUSTICE ME TOO. oh and HOW IS PAYNE STILL A PROSECUTOR HOW HASNT HE RETIRED YET WHASKJDHASDJA i mean good for him at least cause he has glorious hair now albeit only at the side of his head. .
i wonder what theyre gonna do with the original cast now though,, cause even during the first case i was already missing mia so much (i blame trials and tribulations for making my affection for mia so. much. worse.) i hope they come up at least once in the later cases, especially maya, edgeworth, gumshoe, and franzy!! like what happened to them in those 7 years do they know what happened to phoenix what did they think about when they heard that THE ace attorney lost his attorney badge?? so many questions but theyll only get answered as i continue the game wont they huh. .
seeing the updated 2007-esque graphics was so cool though like wow capcom really went all out on this game WASHDJKADHA oh and can i mention something which i LOVE that they implemented: the ability to not directly go to the title screen after saving. IVE BEEN YEARING FOR THIS DURING MY AA TRILOGY PLAYTHROUGH like how apollos been yearning to get his attorneysbadgeSORRY SEEING THAT IN THE COURT RECORD WAS SO FUNNY IM SO GLAD IT FINALLY EXISTS. but on the other hand. . the fact you cant fast forward dialogue during your first viewing of it. . i mean its a good thing considering how i accidentally kept on skipping lines due to the ff feature in the original trilogy but at the same time. why are we taking our sweet time to advance the dialogue. . is this what they meant by fast-paced content is ruining attention spans
sorry for bringing up trials and tribulations for the one billionth time in this blog (cause this blog is literally named after the game which ISNT ace attorney: trials and tribulations) but even though ive started this game i still havent gotten over bridge to the turnabout. . let alone the game as a whole. . i fear it was just that good that itll be persistently haunting my brain for the next few weeks cause wow was it such a rollercoaster of emotions to play (┬┬﹏┬┬) trials and tribulations you will always be famous to me. .
anyways, thats all for now! i was kinda scared to start this game cause i knew it would have a different vibe from the original trilogy but even if theres some parts which im still not sure i entirely like the game seems pretty solid so far !! i quite literally stayed up until 3am just to finish turnabout trump so theres that on keeping me hooked on the story. . as always, thank you so much if you took the time to read this!! this might be my last blog post for 2025 (unless i somehow finish the second case today and post a blog later) so heres to a good 2026 which is one of the years apollo justice takes place in which is kinda crazy if you think about it not to mention 2025 too but shh as always, see you in the next blog, whenever it appears ! ^_^
